Fair and equitable compensation for taxi plate owners.

$1 rideshare levy nets $34m for state: but taxis are losing money

As stated in the SMH  on 19 December 2018, a levy paid by Sydneysiders on all rideshare services, such as Uber, taxis and hire cars has collected more than $34 million in its first six months, but taxi plate owners say they’ve lost much more than the levy compensates them for with plates dropping from over $425,000 down to below $100,000. The state of NSW is being run by multinationals, under the disguise of NSW Liberal Government.

The passenger service levy of $1 plus GST began in February and may be in place for up to five years or until it raises $250 million. The NSW government committed to compensating the taxi and car hire industry for allowing Uber and others to enter the market via deregulation.

It is both shameful and a disgrace how the NSW Taxi Owners have been treated when it comes to proper compensation.   Its now time to make a difference. Vote for Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party at the next NSW State Election in March 2019
