Fair and equitable compensation for taxi plate owners.

Only eight taxi licence holders have not applied for compensation as $60m is paid out

Almost $60 million has been paid out to taxi and limousine licence holders through the government’s transition scheme, with only eight licence holders not taking up the offer for money.

The funding is part of the Queensland government’s $100 million taxi and limousine industry adjustment assistance package announced in August 2016, following the legalisation of ride-sharing companies such as Uber.
