The ATO is data matching to catch tax-dodging Uber drivers – GST crackdown

Business Insider on 17 January 2017 stated that last year, ATO wrote to 20,000 ridesharing drivers about their tax obligations after data-matching identified them as earning an income through Uber or similar apps.

Lets hope that uncollected GST over the past years will also be part of this ATO crackdown considering corporate tax avoidance, was raised by the tax commissioner as far back to November 2015.
